His charge is simple, Stop her! Merit and her team including Betty, a mothering office manager with a bad-ass attitude struggle to stay alive, while they navigate a labyrinth of legal issues, and prove once again that you dont mess with a Texas lady lawyer.

Excerpts from Dollar Signs :   2.11.16

This scene occurs about 1/3 into the book as Boots King is stalking Merit and shes unaware of his presence in her yard.

Boots circled the neighbors yard and watched Merits shadow move behind the shades in her house. He could see her holding something as she sat on the bed, but couldnt see what it was. He crept around the edge of the yard, avoiding the motion sensors for her outdoor lights.
What a joke. A false sense of security at best, useless if someone really wanted in, he thought.
Boots could see Merit fiddle with something then put it on the bedside table. He watched her shadow undress, put on a robe, and leave the bedroom.
Boots saw the bathroom light go on and her shadow move around the small window. It looked like she was running a bath.
Your time is coming. I can have you anytime I want you, Boots said.
He was happy, excited actually, just to watch and know what he could do if he chose. He wanted to make it last.
            Foreplay, Boots said.
